Joan Wood was born in West London on June 15th 1937 and passed away peacefully at home in Westoning on the 1st March 2020. Joan was a much loved and special mum, nanny, sister, aunt and friend. She was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in May 2019 and she dealt with her illness with dignity and strength. Joan's final days were spent at home as she had wished. The support that she got from the Sue Ryder charity at this time was brilliant. The Sue Ryder team were fantastic and cared for her so respectfully and enabled her to have dignity to the very end. They also provided support and assurance for Joan's family who spent time with her in her final days.
